EventScout can be used in many different ways - From tracking website visitors, to understanding user behavior, to general web and product analytics.
We provide this through tracking of events. Any interaction with your website or product is considered an event. This can be as simple as viewing a page, to clicking a button, submitting a form, watching a video, even hovering the mouse over an element. This focus on events allows us to track and understand user behavior, and why we refer to EventScout as an event-centric platform.
To get started with EventScout first sign up for an account.
Once you have an account all you need to do to get started tracking website visitors is:
A Workspace is a logical representation of your app or platform. You can create a workspace to organise a single app or multiple.
A Source defines where a set of events comes from. It could be a web app, a mobile app, a server, or anything else that generates events. As an example, a typical workspace might include a "Website" source, for events generated from the website, and an "App" source, for events generated by the application itself. Maybe a "Mobile app" source for events generated by the app on mobile devices.
Once you have created a workspace and a source, you can include our analytics script on your website. This will start sending pageview events to EventScout, allowing you to track your website visitors.
The analytics script also allows you to send any custom event you like. Simply call the `track()` method with any `type` and `payload`.
